I figured I better do a post before everyone starts slamming down Christmas Wishes and New Year's Resolution lists on their blogs. Let's face it, most bloggers are MIA during this time of year, same with agents. It's nice to just kick back and chill, which is exactly what kind of moment I had today.
At work, I went outside with one of the kid's. Both of us were completely bundled in snow suits, scarves, boots, everything I could find we had on. It was so fun, messing around in the snow and throwing it so it 'rained' over top of us. All the sudden, I had the urge to make a snow angel so I fell backwards, not caring if it would hurt or not.
Then I stayed there, without moving.
Looking up at the restless blue sky, wondering when was the last time I made one of these, I breathed. The clouds were ever so thin and bare. Moving my head to the left, I was blinded. The sun glistening on the snow to make a thousand diamonds was beautiful. It was completely relaxing and so real. Nothing else mattered, not even the fact I'm still dragging out my edits. There were no sounds, a car passing by could not break my focus on this sense of peace and simplicity.
Finally, I pulled out of it. It left a lasting impression and made me wonder why I don't have moments like that anymore? Is it because I'm so wrapped up in every day life that it's hard for me to just stop and hit pause? I don't know. The only thing I know is I want more of them.
One more thing, have a Wonderous Christmas and a Happy (but safe) New Year!
We all need a little moment like that. Have a merry(and peaceful) Christmas! =)
ReplyDeleteNice post and so true. During this time of the year, we are all so busy with trying make everything perfect that we don't see what is to be truly apprectiated, a beautiful blue sky, a dazzling bright sun to light our way, and that breath of air that releases our inner being child of self that hides. Glad you took the time to enjoy the day, remember Cassies words about the perfect moment!
ReplyDeleteMoments like that are rare and beautiful. It's something about lying back in the snow, or even lush grass, that adds perspective to life.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas :)
